About the Arkansas Breastfeeding Coalition

Mission Statement

The Arkansas Breastfeeding Coalition, Inc. is a statewide multidisciplinary organization of individuals with the following mission: to improve the health and well-being of Arkansans by working collaboratively to promote, protect and support breastfeeding. 

Board Members

Lucy Towbin, MSW, LCSW

Lucy Towbin has a masters’ degree in social work and passed the boards to become an IBCLC in 1995.  She has worked for Arkansas Department of Health for over 25 years in a variety of capacities and is currently the Regional Lactation Consultant for the seven central counties of the state.  Lucy has breastfed three children who are now teens and adults.  

Pamela Royal, RN, IBCLC

Pamela Royal is a Registered Nurse and Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She has a total of seven years of experience as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse having worked at Arkansas Children's Hospital and currently, at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She has been a breastfeeding advocate in the community for over 20 years, and in 2011 became a Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Pamela currently serves as Vice-Chair of Arkansas Breastfeeding Coalition. Pamela is a wife and mother of six children, and is active in her church and in the community.

Jessica Donahue, RN, IBCLC

Jessica serves as the Membership Committee Chair.

Sandra Jones, MEd, RD, LD, IBCLC

Sandra Jones is a Registered Dietitian and is the State Breastfeeding Coordinator for the Arkansas Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women Infants and Children (WIC).  She has been a lactation consultant since 1993 and has worked in various roles supporting breastfeeding dyads as well as educating health professionals for more than 21 years.  Sandra’s dream is to see acceptance of breastfeeding  and excellence in health care support for nursing mothers and babies in every community in the state.
